Nazarene Explanation
Jesus Christ is not the Image of word alone, but the Image of invisible trinity God, that means in Jesus Christ we can see our Heavenly Father (I and the Father are one - John 10:30), and the Son (He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven - John 3:13), and the Holy Spirit (if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you - John 16:7).
Matthew's gospel tells that there was a prophecy that Jesus Christ will be called as Nazarene - But when Herod died, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, saying, Rise, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who sought the child's life are dead. And he rose and took the child and his mother and went to the land of Israel. But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there, and being warned in a dream he withdrew to the district of Galilee. And he went and lived in a city called Nazareth, so that what was spoken by the prophets might be fulfilled, that he would be called a Nazarene - Matthew 2:19-23
Is there any prophecy in old testament that says Jesus Christ will be called as Nazarene?
for that we must need to understand the Trinity of Jesus Christ that he is our Heavenly Father, Son(Word) and the Holy Spirit, that was the reason when Amos wrote this he mentioned as "some of your sons/young men" - And I raised up some of your sons for prophets, and some of your young men for Nazirites. Is it not indeed so, O people of Israel? declares the Lord. But you made the Nazirites drink wine, and commanded the prophets, saying, You shall not prophesy - Amos 2:11-12
Nazarene Prophecy Fulfillment
Bible says that Jesus Christ grown up in the city called Nazareth, and Nazareth means "Separated one" which is pointing to Nazirite - All the days that he(Nazirite) separates himself to the Lord he shall not go near a dead body. He shall not make himself unclean even for his father or his mother, for his brother or his sister, when they die, because his separation to God is on his head. All the days of his separation he shall be holy to the Lord - Numbers 6:6-8
And after the Baptism, Jesus Christ moved from Nazareth and lived in Capernaum - And leaving Nazareth he went and lived in Capernaum by the sea, in the territory of Zebulun and Naphtali - Matthew 4:13
So local people called him as Jesus of Nazareth, but actually they are fulfilling the Prophecy spoken about Jesus Christ - Philip found Nathanael and said to him, We have found him of whom Moses in the Law and also the prophets wrote, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph. Nathanael said to him, Can anything good come out of Nazareth? Philip said to him, Come and see - John 1:45-46Â
Prophet Amos also mentioned that Jesus Christ will be offered wine - And when they had come to a place called Golgotha, that is to say, Place of a Skull, they gave Him sour wine mingled with gall to drink. But when He had tasted it, He would not drink - Matthew 27:33-34
And will not be allowed to speak - When he had said these things, one of the officers standing by struck Jesus with his hand, saying, Is that how you answer the high priest? - John 18:22
