Whom the Father Sanctified
Why Jesus has to say that He was sanctified by Father - Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, “You are gods”? If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came , and the Scripture cannot be broken, do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’? If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me; but if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him - John 10:34-38
Definitely there was a prophecy that Father would send his sanctified - I have commanded My sanctified ones; I have also called My mighty ones for My anger, Those who rejoice in My exaltation - Isaiah 13:3
And prophet Samuel demonstrated this in very different way, when he visited Bethlehem, He consecrated Jesse and his sons but God did not choose none of them that are sanctified by Samuel - And Samuel did that which the Lord spake, and came to Bethlehem. And the elders of the town trembled at his coming, and said, Comest thou peaceably? And he said, Peaceably: I am come to sacrifice unto the Lord: sanctify yourselves, and come with me to the sacrifice. And he sanctified Jesse and his sons, and called them to the sacrifice. And it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the Lord's anointed is before him. But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart. Then Jesse called Abinadab, and made him pass before Samuel. And he said, Neither hath the Lord chosen this. Then Jesse made Shammah to pass by. And he said, Neither hath the Lord chosen this. Again, Jesse made seven of his sons to pass before Samuel. And Samuel said unto Jesse, The Lord hath not chosen these - 1 Samuel 16:4-10
And finally God choose David, and Samuel anointed his without sanctifying him - Then Samuel said to Jesse, “Are all your sons here?” And he said, “There remains yet the youngest, but behold, he is keeping the sheep.” And Samuel said to Jesse, “Send and get him, for we will not sit down till he comes here.” And he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy and had beautiful eyes and was handsome. And the Lord said, “Arise, anoint him, for this is he.” Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers. And the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon David from that day forward. And Samuel rose up and went to Ramah - 1 Samuel 16:1-13
This is too tell the world that Christ will be Sanctified by God, and not by any man.
