Oaks of Mamre Explanation
Apostle John who was with Christ until his last moment of the crucifixion, has revealed that Jesus Christ is not the image of Word alone, but the Image of Father, Word and the Holy Spirit, and we must believe in him to overcome this world - 5.Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. 6.This is the one who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth - 1 John 5:5-6
To understand this in a better way, apostle John first explaining the Trinity of our Heavenly Father as Father, Word and Holy Spirit - because there are three who are testifying in Heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit, and these three are one - 1 John 5:7
And then he explained about the Son Jesus Christ, that Jesus had all three of them(Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit) in him - and there are three who are testifying in the earth: the Spirit(Holy Spirit), and the water(Word), and the blood(Father) and the three are into the one(Jesus Christ) - 1 John 5:8
That was the reason Apostle Paul is saying that Jesus Christ is the Image of the invisible God - The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation - Colossians 1:15 that means in Jesus Christ we can see the Son (The Word became flesh - John 1:14), and our Heavenly Father (Whoever has seen me has seen the Father - John 14:9), and the Holy Spirit (The Spirit of the Lord is upon me - Luke 4:18).
Oaks of Mamre Explanation
Bible says that God appeared to Abraham for three times, and every time the God displayed his uniqueness of his Trinity, in the first appearance we can see him as a Father - 6.Abram passed through the land to the place at Shechem, to the oak of Moreh. At that time the Canaanites were in the land. 7.Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, To your offspring I will give this land. So he built there an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him - Genesis 12:6-7
in the second appearance, he was the Word - 1.After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: “Fear not, Abram, I am your shield; your reward shall be very great.” 2.But Abram said, “O Lord God, what will you give me, for I continue childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?” 3.And Abram said, “Behold, you have given me no offspring, and a member of my household will be my heir.” 4.And behold, the word of the Lord came to him: “This man shall not be your heir; your very own son shall be your heir.” 5.And he brought him outside and said, “Look toward heaven, and number the stars, if you are able to number them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” 6.And he believed the Lord, and he counted it to him as righteousness - Genesis 15:1-6
in the third appearance, he was the Holy Spirit who would discipline us and change our life, and the Bible says at the end of the third appearance God went up from the Abraham, that means the Spirit of God filled Abraham while talking to him - 1.When Abram was ninety-nine years old the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless, 2.that I may make my covenant between me and you, and may multiply you greatly.” 3.Then Abram fell on his face. And God said to him, 4.“Behold, my covenant is with you, and you shall be the father of a multitude of nations. 5.No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham, for I have made you the father of a multitude of nations - Genesis 17:1-5 & 22.When he had finished talking with him, God went up from Abraham - Genesis 17:22
And after the three appearances, Finally God visited Abraham as a three person(Trinity God), and Abraham asked all three of them to stay under the tree, Here the tree represent the Cross where Christ crucified for our Salvation - 1.And the Lord appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre, as he sat at the door of his tent in the heat of the day. 2.He lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, three men were standing in front of him. When he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them and bowed himself to the earth 3.and said, “O Lord, if I have found favor in your sight, do not pass by your servant. 4.Let a little water be brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree, 5.while I bring a morsel of bread, that you may refresh yourselves, and after that you may pass on—since you have come to your servant.” So they said, “Do as you have said.” 6.And Abraham went quickly into the tent to Sarah and said, “Quick! Three seahs of fine flour! Knead it, and make cakes.” 7.And Abraham ran to the herd and took a calf, tender and good, and gave it to a young man, who prepared it quickly. 8.Then he took curds and milk and the calf that he had prepared, and set it before them. And he stood by them under the tree while they ate - Genesis 18:1-8
Since Christ is the image of Trinity God, the prophecy called him in plural as Sons - 6.I said, You are Gods, Sons of the Most High, all of you, 7.But you shall die like men, And fall like one of the princes - Psalm 82:6-7
And Christ's trinity also referred him as an Angels of God - 10.Jacob left Beersheba and went toward Haran. 11.And he came to a certain place and stayed there that night, because the sun had set. Taking one of the stones of the place, he put it under his head and lay down in that place to sleep. 12.And he dreamed, and behold, there was a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven. And behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it! 13.And behold, the Lord stood above it and said, “I am the Lord, the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac. The land on which you lie I will give to you and to your offspring - Genesis 28:10-13
Christ also confirmed the Angles of God is referring him only - And he said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.” - John 1:51
