Boanerges

Jesus Christ named Apostle John and his brother James as Boanerges - James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James (to whom he gave the name Boanerges, that is, Sons of Thunder) - Mark 3:17

The name Boanerges (Sons of Thunder) gives us an impression that John and James would be preaching like a thunder, even the brothers also misunderstood the gift, but Lord corrected them - When the days drew near for him to be taken up, he set his face to go to Jerusalem. And he sent messengers ahead of him, who went and entered a village of the Samaritans, to make preparations for him. But the people did not receive him, because his face was set toward Jerusalem. And when his disciples James and John saw it, they said, “Lord, do you want us to tell fire to come down from heaven and consume them?” But he turned and rebuked them - Luke 9:51-55

Lord knows that Apostle John had to write the Book of Revelation for that he need a unique gift to interpret the Thunder sound, So he called him as Boanerges and trained him even before going to Cross.

When Father responded to our Lord from Thunder, no one could understand the Sound except John, that was the reason the interpretation recorded only in the Book of John - Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? But for this purpose I have come to this hour. Father, glorify your name.” Then a voice came from heaven: “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.” The crowd that stood there and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to him.” Jesus answered, This voice has come for your sake, not mine - John 12:27-30

Many years after Apostle John was taken into Patmos island where he fully experienced the reason for Lord called him as Boanerges - And when the seven thunders had sounded, I was about to write, but I heard a voice from heaven saying, Seal up what the seven thunders have said, and do not write it down - Revelation 10:4

Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down - Revelation 12:10

Finally Apostle John completed the Book of Revelation in his days, the one who called him as Boanerges able to protect him until the work is complete - Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out, Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready - Revelation 19:6-7
